Jamshedpur: The Naval Tata Hockey Academy (NTHA) inaugurated 2nd edition of Summer Camp 2025 on May 11 at its world-class hockey facility in Jamshedpur. The camp was inaugurated by Gurmeet Singh Rao, Project Director, NTHA, in the presence of coaches, staff, and young participants.

A total of 65 enthusiastic children from various schools across Jamshedpur along with children from Masti Ki Paathsala have joined this enriching summer program that aims to introduce and sharpen basic hockey skills, build physical fitness, and ignite a passion for the sport among the next generation of players. Masti Ki Pathshala (MKP) was introduced in 2016 by Tata Steel Foundation as a programme to eliminate child labour from Jamshedpur by creating a citizen-led movement to discover, foster and connect such children to education as a means to exit the vicious cycle of child labour and abuse.
This summer camp is being conducted under the guidance of top-level FIH certified coaches, and offers structured sessions including basic hockey training, video analysis, fun games, and physical fitness exercises, all designed to provide a wholesome and engaging sports environment.
The camp will run until May 20, with sessions scheduled every morning from 6:30 AM to 8:00 AM. The initiative is open to all school children from Jamshedpur, and registrations are still open for those who wish to be a part of this unique sporting experience.
Speaking at the inauguration, Rao stated “This summer camp is not just a training ground but a platform to discover new talent and foster the sporting spirit among young minds. With structured guidance, we aim to prepare players who can eventually represent their schools in district, state, and national-level competitions such as SGFI.”
The Naval Tata Hockey Academy, affiliated with Hockey Jharkhand and Hockey India, continues its mission to nurture young talent and promote grassroots hockey development in the region.
For those still interested in joining the camp, registration can be done by visiting Naval Tata Hockey Academy, Jamshedpur.
