
The Sensational Midnight Murder of G.K. Gautam

The police investigation into the daring and pre-planned murder that took place in the Bagbera police station area of Jamshedpur last month has now reached a crucial phase. On the late night of April 27, 2026, at approximately 12:30 AM, Gitendu Kumar Gautam (also known as G.K. Gautam), a resident of Eklavya City Road No. 19, Kulup Tanga in Adityapur-2 (Seraikela-Kharsawan district), was brutally shot dead. Following this sensational crime, a named FIR (Case No. 32/26) was registered at the Bagbera police station based on the statement of the deceased’s wife, Reena Rani. The FIR alleged a deep-rooted conspiracy, primarily naming Raj Kishore Singh (son of Late Parmanand Singh), Avinash Singh, Avinash Singh’s elder brother, and a few others as the main accused.

Surrender of the Father-Son Duo After Massive Police Pressure
Following the murder, the accused were evading arrest. However, due to continuous raids, mounting pressure, and strict actions by the Jamshedpur police, the accused finally gave in. On May 12, 2026, two of the primary accused in this murder case, 50-year-old Raj Kishore Singh and his son Aniket Singh (both residents of Bagbera Colony Road No. 5), surrendered before the Honorable Court in Jamshedpur. To dig deeper into the conspiracy and recover the murder weapon, the police requested the Honorable Court to take both accused into police remand for intense questioning.
Strict Interrogation Leads to the Recovery of the Murder Weapon
Under the strict directives of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and City SP of Jamshedpur, a special team led by the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Law & Order) extensively interrogated both remanded accused. Unable to withstand the strict police questioning, the accused confessed to their crime. Based on their precise information and lead, the police raided the residence of the main accused, Raj Kishore Singh, located at Bagbera Colony Road No. 5. During this targeted raid, the police successfully recovered the murder weapon—a desi (country-made) pistol fitted with a magazine, along with one live bullet.
Getaway Motorcycle Seized from Parsudih Area
In addition to the weapon, the police also tracked down the vehicle used by the criminals to escape the crime scene on the night of the murder. Based on the details provided by the accused, the police team conducted a raid in the Moigutu area under the jurisdiction of the Parsudih police station. From this location, the police seized the Hero Honda Passion Plus motorcycle bearing registration number JH05D-9034, which was used in the crime. This crucial seizure has significantly strengthened the police’s case.

The special police team that unraveled the details and recovered the weapon and vehicle demonstrated highly professional investigative skills. The raid team was led by Bagbera Police Station In-charge, Police Inspector Umesh Kumar Thakur. The team also included highly capable officers like Sub-Inspector Alok Kumar , Sub-Inspector Xavier Horo , Assistant Sub-Inspector Santosh Kumar , Assistant Sub-Inspector Pawan Kumar Singh , Assistant Sub-Inspector Sunil Kumar Yadav, and the brave personnel of the Police Station Reserve Guard.
