JAMSHEDPUR NEWS :SAFE organises sessions on Sustainability and Cyber Safety for school students

Jamshedpur,: SAFE (Safety Awareness for Everyone) organised “Train the Trainer” sessions for school students on topics of Sustainability and Cyber Safety at Kudy Mahanty Auditorium, Kadma on November 22.

Total 250 students (studying between standard VI to VIII) and 50 teachers from 24 schools of Jamshedpur participated in the event.

Session on ‘Sense and Sustainability’ was taken by Professor Kalyan Bhaskar from XLRI and ‘Cyber Safety’ session was taken by Jyotshna Singh of Information Security Services, Tata Steel.

Neeraj Sinha, Chief Safety, Tata Steel inaugurated the sessions, welcoming the speakers. Quizzes were conducted after the sessions and token gifts were given. Professor Kalyan in very interesting way explained the 7 basic things that students should do in order to boost a sustainable living, videos were also shown related to this topic. Cyber safety awareness focussed on making a secure digital space, how to be alert of phishing, cyber bullying, social engineering etc. Both sessions were highly appreciated.

SAFE operates in 51 schools across Tata Steel Jamshedpur and Raw Materials locations and helps creating awareness amongst youth. Sessions were moderated by Ms Mom Mitra, Convenor SAFE. These were train the trainer sessions wherein the children will be teaching these topics to rest of the groups in school.
