Jamshedpur – The Naval Tata Hockey Academy proudly celebrated its 7th anniversary on July 13, 2024 at Naval Tata Hockey Academy. The momentous occasion was graced by Mr. Hemant Gupta, CEO Hockey Ace Foundation, Head of Sports Academies and Adventure Foundation, Tata Steel. He has been a steadfast supporter with a wealth of experience & inspiration in developing Naval Tata Hockey Academy in the world of hockey.
Founded in 2017 by Legendary Ratan Tata, the Naval Tata Hockey Academy has come a long way, overcoming numerous challenges to establish itself as a premier institution for hockey training and development in India. The anniversary event, held at the academy’s hostel, was a celebration of the academy’s journey, achievements, and the bright future that lies ahead.
The anniversary celebration included a series of events showcasing the talents and skills of the academy’s cadets, reflecting NTHA’s approach towards holistic development of the cadets. The event also served as an opportunity to honour the coaches, staff, and supporters whose contributions have been vital to the academy’s achievements.
Mr. Hemant Gupta, in his keynote address, praised the academy’s consistent and significant growth over the last seven years. “The Naval Tata Hockey Academy started with the vision of Mr. Naval Tata approach towards the development of hockey in India. Keeping this thought, NTHA has consistently demonstrated excellence, in producing top-tier hockey players at national and international level. NTHA’s commitment to providing world-class training facilities and expert coaching with building character focusing on overall holistic & skill development of the players has been instrumental in its success. I am proud of what we have achieved and excited for what the future holds for us.”
Since inception, Naval Tata Hockey Academy in Jamshedpur has been cadets with boasting world-class facilities that cater to every aspect of cadet’s development. NTHA features a state-of-the-art hockey-specific gym designed to enhance the athletic abilities. Taking into account of the physical training, the academy provides access to top-tier nutritionists who tailor dietary plans to optimize performance and recovery. Furthermore, the presence of skilled physiotherapists and professional masseur and eminent psychologist ensures that athletes receive comprehensive care, preventing injuries and promoting overall well-being.
Over these 7 years, NTHA has produced 7 Indian campers with 3 cadets representing the Indian team against the Netherlands. As an academy NTHA has won 2nd academy Nationals, Hockey India Presidential Award and countless awards. In addition, 2 cadets joined the Indian Air Force, 1 joined the Indian Army. 1 has joined South Eastern Railway and 1 has joined Rajasthan Police.
