Tata Steel marked International Yoga Day this morning at the JRD Tata Sports Complex with an energising yoga session led by Austomita Som, certified yoga instructor at the Yoga Centre, JRD Tata Sports Complex. The event was graced by D B Sundara Ramam, Vice President – Corporate Services, as Chief Guest.
Aligned with this year’s global theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” the session aimed to promote holistic well-being among employees through simple yet impactful yogic practices. Participants engaged in a guided routine based on the official Yoga Day Protocol, focusing on balance, flexibility, and mindful breathing.
In his address, D B Sundara Ramam spoke about yoga as a timeless tool for wellness and inner harmony. He emphasized the importance of making yoga a daily habit, especially in the context of today’s fast-paced lives.

As a prelude to today’s main event, a special 20-minute desk yoga session was held yesterday for employees. Designed to suit busy workdays, it demonstrated stretches and breathing techniques that can be practiced comfortably at one’s workstation—regardless of attire. This initiative reflected Tata Steel’s ongoing commitment to integrating wellness seamlessly into everyday life.
