Jamshedpur Today News :TATA STEEL SPORT CLIMBING CHAMPIONSHIP 2022 – India’s biggest sports climbing championship
Nurturing budding athletes and making them climb higher

The third day of ‘Tata Steel Sport Climbing Championship 2023 (TSSCC)’ witness an energized arena. This event is being organized by Tata Steel Adventure Foundation with support from Tata Steel Foundation and JCAPCPL. The parents and athletes are very happy with the state-of-the-art infrastructure at TSAF. The events unfurled today were finals of bouldering and lead across various age categories. The sporting vision of India has changed over the past years with an improved infrastructure and awareness. The excitement of kids has been exemplary. Sports development has a long way to go now. A few of the athletes are studying sports science and medicine to make a career in this field.
Winning or losing is part and parcel of a competition. What matters is technique and consistency. Practice is the only pathway to accuracy. The spirit of sportsmanship when inculcated in a child leads to an all – round development.
A sit and draw competition was organized for the school students of Classes 1 to 10. With the theme of ‘Superhero and Sports’, more than 300 kids took part in this competition. 75 of the athletes taking part in the sport climbing championship also showcased their talent in painting and drawing.
An Adventure Fun Zone was organized for the kids. More than 1200 attempts were made in Melt down, Bungee Trampoline, Water Roller with Swimming Pool, Wall Climbing and Cricket Bowling Machine. The arena looks colorful with cheerful kids all around, playing, climbing, drawing and making the most out of these four days of championship.
The medal tally has not yet been announced as it is calculated by the combined results of the points earned in lead and bouldering. Some of the events got their medal winners.
