Police foil major crime plan, recover live ammunition and firearm

In a major crackdown, Jamshedpur police have arrested four members of the Rinku Seth gang in the Govindpur police station area. During the operation, authorities seized a country-made pistol, two live bullets, and a cartridge. The arrested criminals were reportedly planning a major criminal activity in the forest.

Forest Operation Foils Crime Plot
On October 23, the Govindpur police received intelligence that a group of suspicious youths had gathered near Naya Road forest area and were allegedly planning a criminal act. Acting swiftly, the City Police Superintendent formed a special raid team. During the search, the suspects attempted to flee, but police cornered and arrested all four. During the search, one accused was found carrying a live bullet, and, following their guidance, police recovered the hidden pistol and ammunition from the bushes.

Pistol Linked to Rinku Seth
During interrogation, the arrested criminals revealed that the weapons were provided by Rinku Seth alias Saurabh Sharma, a known member of the Amarnath gang. Seth has prior cases of theft, extortion, snatching, firing, and murder registered against him. On October 22, before going to jail, he had instructed his associates to hide the pistol so that the gang could continue its criminal activities.

Seized Items and Police Action
The police recovered a country-made pistol, a 7.65 mm live bullet, an 8 mm bullet, and one cartridge. The weapons have been sent to the forensic lab for examination. The operation was led by DSP City Sunil Chaudhary along with Thana Officer Pawan Kumar and other police officials. Cases have been registered against all the accused under relevant sections, and further investigation is underway.
