According to City SP Kumar Shivashish, the first operation led to the arrest of Ravi Mahanand alias Gopla, who opened fire at Hareram Singh’s Bhuiyandih residence. When police raided the spot around 1:30 AM, Ravi fired at them, prompting police to retaliate in self-defense. He was injured in the encounter and later admitted to MGM Hospital.
From the spot, police recovered a loaded pistol, live rounds, empty shells, liquor bottles, and other materials.

In the second operation on the night of October 28, police arrested Akash Singh alias Lalu from New Sitaramdera Slag Road, following another secret input. During interrogation, Akash confessed that he and his associate Dashrath Shukla were previously employed by businessman Hareram Singh. After they were excluded from the new liquor contract, they conspired to extort money and take revenge.
The plan was allegedly hatched in coordination with notorious gangster Sujit Sinha and Dubai-based criminal Prince Khan. Akash revealed that through Riya Sinha and Bablu Khan, they procured firearms and ammunition from Ranchi.
Earlier, on October 23, police had already arrested Dashrath Shukla with three pistols and several live rounds. Police said that these back-to-back operations have significantly dented the morale of the gang.
Authorities confirmed that raids are ongoing to nab the remaining accused involved in the extortion plot.
