Jamshedpur: The Tata Steel Climbing Championship 2026 witnessed an energetic and inspiring start with successful completion of Day 1 and Day 2 competitions, marking a strong beginning to the international sporting event. Climbers from multiple countries including India, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Nepal showcased exceptional talent across lead, boulder and speed formats in various age categories.

Beyond competitive climbing, the event also created a festive and inclusive sporting environment. Over 300 students from various schools of Jamshedpur participated in a drawing competition based on the theme of sports and mountaineering. Zumba sessions and recreational activities were also organised for the athletes, creating a lively atmosphere and adding fun elements to the championship experience.
Republic day celebration and the prize distribution ceremony were held on 26th January from 9:45 am onwards. DB Sundara Ramam Sir, Vice President Corporate Services Tata Steel was the chief guest of this event. Oher guests included Mukul Vinayak Choudhari sir, Chief Sports Tata Steel, Hemant Gupta Sir, Head Sports Academies and Adventure Programme Tata Steel, Manish Sinha sir Head Sports (Events & Training Centres), Srikrishna Ramesh Kaduskar, Chairman IMF West Zone and Jury President of this championship and Debraj Dutta, Chairman IMF East Zone
Results of following categories were announced during the prize distribution ceremony on 26th January.

Anay Pingale, Advait Sathe, Veda Lalit Choudhari, Dhruvi Ganesh and Satyajit Mangesh are from Maharashtra. Kavya is from Karnataka. Sanju, Champa, Amar, Suku, Rajesh, Savitri, Nandini, Muskan, Akash, Shankar, Ajay and Manisha are athletes from Tata Steel Adventure Foundation Climbing Academy Jharkhand.
The competition will go on till 27th. Results of 22 categories will be declared on 26th and 27th January. The state/club with highest number of medal points will win the Tata Climbing Cup 2026.
