JAMSHEDPUR NEWS :TMH hosts breast cancer awareness programme

Jamshedpur: In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Tata Main Hospital (TMH) today organised a Breast Cancer Awareness Programme at the TMH Auditorium on Thursday. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of early detection and prevention of breast cancer among women.

The programme was attended by women employees of Tata Steel, their spouses, and representatives from various organizations dedicated to promoting breast cancer awareness. Dr. Sanghamitra Jena, Consultant and In-charge of the Department of Surgical Oncology at TMH, was the guest speaker. Dr. Jena provided valuable insights into breast cancer, discussing its causes, symptoms, and the latest treatment options available. 

Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President Corporate Services, Tata Steel, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Sanjeev Kumar Choudhary, President of Tata Workers’ Union, was the Guest of Honour. They focused on the importance of taking care of our health and aware about the same..

 

Around 180 people attended the program, and they were encouraged to stay informed about the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, undergo regular screenings, and adopt healthy lifestyle habits to lower their risk.  General Manager Medical Services (Designate), Dr. Vinita Singh, announced the launch of a new modality for mammography services today at TMH heath check-up Centre, Sonari. The service is available to everyone through the online TMH Vishwas App on which the slot may be booked directly by the patients as per their convenience.
