Jamshedpur: Tata Steel’s Sports Department organised a successful Inter-Divisional Carrom Championship from June 21-22, 2023, at the JFC Media Centre, JRD Tata Sports Complex. Rajeev Malhotra, Chief Lime Plant, Tata Steel graced the occasion as Chief Guest along with Hemant Gupta, Head of the Adventure Programme and Sports at Tata Steel.
The championship witnessed enthusiastic participation from a total of 36 teams from 19 units of Tata Steel. More than 72 players showcased their talent in this year’s competition.
In a display of exceptional skill and sportsmanship, the team from Tata Steel Long Products emerged as the winners, showcasing their prowess and determination, whereas Team B from Ore Mines and Quarries Division bagged the runner’s up position. Tata Steel’s West Bokaro Division emerged as the 2nd runner’s up in this championship.
To ensure fair play and adherence to the rules, the championship benefited from the expertise of renowned technical officials, including Tilak Ram, Jaswant, J Behra, Shiva, and N Das who performed their roles admirably.
Tata Steel’s commitment to promoting sports and fostering a spirit of camaraderie among its workforce was evident throughout the championship. The event provided an excellent platform for employees to showcase their carrom skills and foster a healthy competitive spirit.
