Jamshedpur News :Tata Steel Iron Ore Mines in Jharkhand Bag Seven Awards at MEMC Final Day Event

# Noamundi Iron Mine declared

winner in Overall Performance category in A-1 group of mines

Ranchi: Tata Steel’s Noamundi Iron Mine and Vijay II Iron Mine in Jharkhand have won seven awards at the 31st Mines Environment and Mineral Conservation (MEMC) week, 2023-24 final day event, organised under the aegis of Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM), Ranchi region in Ranchi on Saturday.

Noamundi Iron Mine was declared winner in Overall Performance category in A-1 group of mines.

Similarly, the mine was adjudged winner in Afforestation. It won second position in other categories including- Environment Monitoring and, Publicity and Propaganda.

Similarly, Vijay II Iron Mine was declared winner in Mineral Conservation. It received second prizes in Sustainable Development and Waste Dump Management in the same group.

Tata Steel won 2nd prize in stall display which was put up on the occasion to showcase its commitment towards  conservation of mines and environment.

Officials of Tata Steel received the awards from Pankaj Kulshrestha, Chief Controller of Mines (MES), IBM who graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

A total of 75 awards were given away under various categories during the event in which 31 mines across the state had participated.

Among others present on the occasion were Salil Sandip Kujur, Regional Controller of Mines, Ranchi Region, IBM, Shailendra Kumar, COM (EZ), IBM, Nagpur,  Atul Kumar Bhatnagar, General Manager (OMQ), Tata Steel, Ashutosh Tiwari, Dy. ED, Dalmia Cement Bharat Ltd., Bijesh Kumar Jha, President, Hindalco, Awnish Kumar, Chief, Mine Planning, Noamundi Iron Mine, Rajeev Kumar, Chief, Vijay II Iron Mine and officials and representatives from various mines across the state.
