JamshedpuR: Tata Steel today hosted the 10th edition of the Tata Steel Jamshedpur Run, branded as the Jamshedpur Half Marathon, reinforcing the city’s position as a leading hub for distance running in the region. Now in its second year, the Half Marathon category was held alongside the popular 10-km, 5-km and 2-km events, drawing a total of 3,834 participants across age groups and abilities, including 932 women and 2,902 men.
The event was flagged off in the presence of TV Narendran, CEO & Managing Director, Tata Steel, Ruchi Narendran, D B Sundara Ramam, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, Shailaja Ramam, Dr Vinita Singh, General Manager, Medical Services, Tata Steel, Rituraj Sinha, Managing Director, Tata Steel UISL, and Ujjal Chakraborti, Executive-in-Charge, Tinplate, along with other senior dignitaries from across the Tata ecosystem. The leaders appreciated the strong community response to the 10th edition and highlighted the role of sport in promoting health, inclusion and civic pride in Jamshedpur.
This year’s run saw spirited competition across all categories.
In the Half Marathon (Men), Mohit Yadav emerged as the winner with a timing of 1:04:05, followed by Sachin Yadav at 1:04:15, Ravi Kumar Pal at 1:04:59, Shubham Sindhu at 1:05:18, and Dhananjay Mahato at 1:16:05. In the Half Marathon (Women), Bharti Nain clinched the top spot with 1:16:38, followed by Renu Singh at 1:18:38, Anjali Patidar at 1:21:03, Anita Das at 1:27:27, and Gudiya Kumari at 1:37:08.
The 10-km Run recorded impressive performances, with Balram winning the Men’s category in 30:06, followed by Navratan (30:13), Prashant Choudhary (30:23), Mohan Sangwan(30:42) and Chandan Yadav (32:12). In the Women’s category, Jyoti secured first place with 36:16, followed by Sangeeta Pal (36:22), Anamika Devi (39:14), Pano Baskey (42:45) and Shobha Mahato (44:22).
The 5-km Run continued to attract young and emerging runners. In the Men’s category, Abhishek topped the charts with 14:47, followed by Bablu Tudu (14:53), Spratap Rao (15:28), Shiv Gupta (16:09) and Baghrai Murmu (16:14). In the Women’s category, Manali Singha finished first with 18:55, followed by Manisha (20:56), Dilki Pareya (21:18), China Gope (22:04) and Laxmi Murmu (22:32).
Across categories, the overall participation remained robust, with 1,398 runners in the 10 km, 957 in the 5 km, 1,047 in the 2 km fun run and 432 in the Half Marathon, reflecting the city’s growing running culture. Women’s participation continued to be a key focus area, with strong representation across all distances.
The 2025 edition was supported by Tata Copper as Hydration Partner, Tata Gluco+ as Energy Partner, Ginger Hotels as Hospitality Partner and Koru Foundation as Sustainability Partner. In collaboration with Koru Foundation and operational teams, organisers worked towards a near zero-waste run by minimising single-use materials, encouraging reuse and ensuring proper waste segregation and recycling across the venue and route.
