Jamshedpur,: Tata Steel Jamshedpur has taken the initiative for Sustainable Disposal of End-of-Life Vehicles (ELV) for both Commercial and passenger vehicles, through Tata Motors Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF) arm, Re-Wi-Re (Recycle with Respect).
The initiative promoting the principles of circularity was flagged-off by Executive In Charge, Industrial By Product Management Division, Dipankar Dasgupta in presence of Pranay Sinha, Chief, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, Amit Ranjan Chakraborty, Chief, Environment Management, Tata Steel, Anurag Saxena, Chief, Electrical Maintenance, Tata Steel, Arvind Kumar Sinha, Chief, Security & Brand Protection. Other senior officials of Tata Steel and Re-Wi-Re, Tata Motors were present today at Tata Steel Jamshedpur Works.
Re-Wi-Re, a business model created for sustainable disposal of vehicles after their end of life, provides free doorstep End-of-Life Vehicles impact assessment and fair pricing, pickup, due diligence of documentation from corporates and relevant stakeholders. Individual vehicle parts are disposed as per environmental norms complying with Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. At present, Re-Wi-Re has 11 centres across India with capacity to recycle 0.2 million ELVs overall. This enterprise, first time being implemented in Jharkhand, will be rolled out in other locations as well in upcoming time.
