Jamshedpur: Tata Main Hospital (TMH) organised a Walkathon to mark World AIDS Day today. The Walkathon, aimed to create awareness amongst the masses regarding the disease, was flagged off by Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President Corporate Services Tata Steel and Dr Vinita Singh, General Manager Medical Services, Tata Steel.
Around 300 people from the medical fraternity, nursing staffs & students participated in the event. The Walkathon started from TMH at 6:30 am, moved to the Red Cross circle and then turned towards Covid Warrior Park where Nursing Students performed ‘Nukkad Natak’ to spread AIDS awareness before finishing at TMH.
Tata Main Hospital has a HIV nodal centre for AIDS where management of patients is done. The patients are tested for HIV as per protocol and are prescribed Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) on monthly basis, helping HIV positive patients lead a healthy life.
