Jamshedpur: Road Safety Month was celebrated by (Safety Awareness for Everyone (SAFE) Club and Tata Steel at Kudy Mahanty Auditorium where students and teachers from 29 schools of Jamshedpur attended the sessions.
Event was inaugurated by DSP Traffic, Jamshedpur Shri Neeraj Kumar where he deliberated on legal aspects of traffic violations and scope of learners’ license. Road Safety Talk was given by Mr Neeraj Kumar Sinha, Chief Safety Tata Steel where he spoke on defensive driving techniques and sensitised the audience on the consequences of rash driving and overspeeding. Quiz was also conducted by CII Young Indians team where interesting questions, case studies were discussed.
Around 300 students and teachers attended the sessions. Mr Sunil Kumar, Head Workplace Safety, Jamshedpur welcomed the speakers and Mr Udit Verma, Head Road Safety, Tata Steel proposed Vote of Thanks. Programme was coordinated by Ms Mom Mitra, Area Manager, Safety and Convenor of SAFE
SAFE operates in 51 schools in locations where Tata Steel has its factory and mines. Chaired by Mrs Ruchi Narendran, it works over the year to create awareness on safety topics and hands on demonstrations for basic life support skills.
