JAMSHEDPUR NEWS :.IMF East Zone represented by TSAF climbers, wins the National Sport Climbing Championship for the 4th consecutive time
Jamshedpur: Climbers from Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF) showcased an outstanding performance at the 28th National Sport Climbing Championship 2025, held in Bengaluru from 18 to 21 January 2025.
A team of 28 athletes—17 males and 11 females—competed and secured a total of 17 medals in bouldering, lead, and speed climbing events. Kumar Gaurav, climbing coach of TSAF Sport Climbing Academy, was the coach of IMF East Zone and Roshni Bisht, Administrator of TSAF Sport Climbing Academy, was the manager of IMF East Zone.
Additionally, Disha Dangat, physiotherapist of TSAF Sport Climbing Academy, accompanied the team as one of the official. Each medal won has points associated with it and the zone with maximum number of points wins the national trophy. Total points of East Zone, represented by TSAF climbers, was 41 and therefore the East Zone was crowned as the national champions. This is the 4th consecutive time our climbers have won the national championship. Previously we won the title in 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2024. Out of 17, 1 medal was won by an athlete of OTSAFSCHPC (Odisha Tata Steel Adventure Foundation Sport Climbing High Performance Centre), while the remaining medals were won by the athletes from TSAF Jharkhand. This success reflects TSAF’s dedication to training and developing talented climbers from grassroots levels to higher stages of competition.

Ex TSAF Cadets, who played from other zones in the competition, have also won various medals. Aman Verma won a Gold Medal in Open Men’s Bouldering and a Silver Medal in Lead. Sachin Saroj won a Bronze Medal in Open Men’s Lead. In the women’s events, Anisha Verma won a Gold Medal in Lead and a Bronze Medal in Open Women’s Bouldering.
