Jamshedpur: Police have solved the major theft reported on 7 December at the residence of Amit Solanki in Baradwari under the Sitaramdera police station. The mastermind, Alok Mukhi alias Sawan Mukhi, along with three others, has been arrested. The police recovered stolen gold and silver jewellery, cash, a scooty, a mobile phone, and other valuables worth around ₹14 lakh.
CCTV Footage and Informer Input Helped Crack the Case
Following the instructions of the SSP, a special police team analyzed CCTV footage and acted on informer leads to first arrest the main accused, Alok Mukhi. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime and revealed that he had given part of the stolen jewellery to his sister Jyoti Mukhi and brother-in-law Dheeraj Tanti to sell, while the remaining items were hidden at his residence.
Police later detained Jyoti Mukhi and Dheeraj Tanti, who also admitted their involvement in the theft.

Police Recovered Gold Necklace by Acting as Customers
Playing a crucial role in solving the case, the police team posed as customers and recovered a stolen gold necklace from Anannya Jewellers located in Adityapur
Additionally, other gold and silver ornaments, ₹70,000 cash, the scooty used in the crime, a mobile phone, and clothes worn during the theft were seized from the accused and their houses.

Sunil Kumar Prasad
The main mastermind, Alok Mukhi, has a criminal history and had previously been jailed in another case in the Sitaramdera area. Similarly, Dheeraj Tanti was earlier arrested in a theft case under Adityapur police station.
City SP Kumar Shivashish stated that the swift action and active efforts of the police team were crucial in solving the case. All accused have been produced before the court for judicial proceedings.
