Jamshedpur: A two-day International Conference on Dry Beneficiation (DRYBEN 2026) commenced today at Beldih Club, Jamshedpur with enthusiastic participation from industry leaders, academicians, researchers, and technology providers from India and abroad. The event is being organized by Tata Steel in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Metals (IIM), Jamshedpur Chapter and aims to create a platform for discussion, dissemination and advancement of emerging dry beneficiation technologies across minerals and coal sectors.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Sandeep Kumar, VP Raw Materials, Tata Steel; Dipankar Dasgupta, EIC IBMD, Tata Steel; Atanu Ranjan Pal, CTO Process Tata Steel & Chairman IIM Jamshedpur Chapter; and Veerendra Singh, Convenor, DRYBEN 2026.
DRYBEN 2026 witnessed the active engagement over 240 participants across multiple disciplines providing forum for technical exchange and deliberation on innovative and sustainable dry beneficiation technologies. Day 1 featured a plenary session and two technical sessions covering sorting technologies, comminution, dry gravity concentration, and a strategic panel discussion on dry beneficiation.

Day 2 will host four focused sessions featuring advancements in dry gravity separation, electrostatic & magnetic separation, and auxiliary technologies such as dust extraction, pneumatic conveying, and drying technologies.
