~ More than 410 individuals screened for eye check-up. 119 individuals from the community to benefit from the free-of-cost cataract surgery~
West Bokaro : In its endeavor towards building a healthier and happier tomorrow, free of cost cataract camp at Tata Steel’s West Bokaro Division was inaugurated today at Durga Mandap, Housing complex, West Bokaro. Madhavi Mishra, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Ramgarh District graced the occasion as Chief Guest along with Dr Prabhat Kumar, Civil Surgeon, Ramgarh, P K Srivastava, Chief (Capacity Enhancement Project), West Bokaro Division, Tata Steel and Anurag Dixit, Chief (QSEB), West Bokaro Division, Tata Steel.
The annual cataract camp organised by Tata Steel’s CSR wing Tata Steel Foundation in collaboration with Sankara Nethralaya at West Bokaro aims to reach out to the district outskirts aiding people with vision loss. This is the second camp organised this year and more than 410 individuals got their eyes checked, out of which 119 were finally found suitable for operation. The cataract camp will conclude on September 24, 2021.
Present on the occasion were Sarita Devi, Zila Parishad, Upadhayask, Ramgarh, Chandramani Devi, Pramukh, Mandu Block, Ramgarh, Kanchan Kumari, Up-Pramukh, Mandu Block, Ramgarh, Dushanyant Patel, Member, Zila Parishad, Dr Ashok Ram, Medical Officer In-Charge, Mandu, Jay Kumar Ram, CO, Mandu and Mr Keshav Ranjan, Unit Head, Tata Steel Foundation, West Bokaro Division.
During her short visit, deputy commissioner also visited the newly built J N Tata Park, JN Tata Vocational Training Centre, Vaccination Centre and Model Anganwadi Centre. Talking about youth skill development, Ms Madhavi Mishra, IAS, DC, Ramgarh said that it is good to know about the local in-demand skill development training that is being given to the local youth backed with the good health-care services.
