Jamshedpur Women’s University is committed to provide not just quality education but also empower their girl students. On 27th June MOU was signed between Jamshedpur Women’s University and MSME Technology Centre (Indo -Danish Tool Room IDTR) to encourage entrepreneurship and research amongst interested students. IDTR is a Technology Centre under Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India established as an autonoums body in the year 1991 under the bilateral agreement between Government of India & Government of Denmark.
IDTR and JWU aim to have a healthy exchange
of information on Technology, Research and Education programs which include joint research projects and funding, online / offline training, short term skill development courses, faculty exchange programmes, conferences, seminars and workshops.
Honourable Vice Chancellor Prof.(Dr) Anjila Gupta hails this MoU as a significant step towards skill development and education, research & training in MSME sector.

The roles and responsibilities of each party are spelled out in the MoU. The MSME Technology Centre, Jamshedpur will provide training programmes, infrastructure and research support, involve professionals and companies in coordination, and conduct research and development, besides proposing new areas of cooperation will promote growth and entrepreneurship. The University will develop curriculum, recommend students for internships and training, provide infrastructure, upgrade faculty skills, facilitate on-site training for IDTR faculty, and participate in research projects, will participate, and assist in workshops, seminars and placements. The MoU also contains provisions on coordination, course fees, employment opportunities, intellectual property rights, confidentiality, arbitration in case of disputes, and validity and termination of the MoU.”

On the one hand, MSME Technology Centre, Jamshedpur (Indo-Danish Tool Room) is an autonomous body under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India. It is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and provides technical support, skilled manpower and training to MSMEs and industries. The center offers various courses and has expertise in Additive Manufacturing, Prototyping, CNC Machining and other areas. They have also developed import substitutes and components for various industries.
On the other hand, Jamshedpur Women’s University, Jamshedpur is an advanced university of the Government of Jharkhand. It is committed to women education and empowerment in the state. The university imparts education in various faculties and has also started vocational and Add-on Courses along with regular subjects. It actively participates in extension activities and has a active Placement Cell to provide job opportunities for girl students. The University focuses on social responsibility under which it strives for the upliftment of girl students coming from the tribal tribal community. With this MoU, the objective of empowerment of tribal girl students can also be fulfilled.
The objectives of this MoU include exchange of information on technology, research and education programmes, collaboration on joint research projects, providing skill training and continuing education programmes, organizing seminars and conferences, exchange of faculty and students , supporting and working on business incubation and design projects. Emphasis on joint skill development programs for the local community.
Overall, the objective of this MoU is to promote collaboration between MSME Technology Centre, Jamshedpur (Indo-Danish Tool Room), and Jamshedpur Women’s University, Jamshedpur, to enhance their respective capacities and promote technology, research and development in the area and to contribute to the development of education.
