15th Jharkhand State Boxing Championship concludes at Tata Steel’s Noamundi Boxing Centre

West Singhbhum : With spectacular performances and intriguing competitions, the 15th Jharkhand State Boxing Championship concluded at Tata Steel’s Noamundi Boxing Centre (NBC). Uttam Singh, Vice President (Iron Making) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest along with D B Sundara Ramam, Vice president (Raw Material) as Guest of Honour in presence of Atul Kumar Bhatnagar, General Manager, OMQ Division, Tata Steel.

In a three-day high-octane boxing championship, 11 districts and more than 132 boxers participated in the championship and the championship was divided into two categories, Junior (Boy and Girl) and Youth (Men and Women).

Palak Kumari, Annu Pandey and Rahul Kumar from East Singhbhum won the Best Boxer Award in Junior (Girl) & Youth (Women & Men) category respectively. Whereas Suraj Rana, West Singhbhum clinched the Best Boxer Award in Junior (Boy) Category.

East Singhbhum won the team champions award in Junior (Boys & Girls) and Youth (Men and Women) category. Ranchi received the Runner up award and Dhanbad and West Singhbhum grabbed the Runner up award in Youth (Men and Women) respectively.

The event concluded with felicitation of JBA Officials and members of the organising committee from Tata Steel. JBA thanked Tata Steel for organising this wonderful event and stated that Tata Steel is always willing to push the players further.

Present on the occasion were, Mr Shirish Shekhar, Chief Noamundi, Mr P K Dhall, Chief (P&L), OMQ, Tata Steel, Mr Dhirendra Kumar, Chief Medical Officer, Tata Steel Hospital, Noamundi, Mr S K Roy, Head, Power Distribution, Tata Steel, Noamundi along with senior JBA officials.
