Jamshedpur: In a concerted effort to promote environmental sustainability and raise public awareness about plastic pollution, Tata Steel in collaboration with the Regional Office of the Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board, Swachhatapukare Foundation, and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), organized a River Cleaning Drive at Domuhani Ghat—the scenic confluence of the Subarnarekha and Kharkai rivers.
Held early on Sunday morning, the initiative witnessed enthusiastic voluntary participation from over 50 individuals representing the partner organisations. The one-hour drive focused on the removal of plastic waste and riverbank debris, aligning with this year’s World Environment Day theme—“Beat Plastic Pollution.”
Participants were provided with safety gear including gloves and masks and were encouraged to bring reusable water bottles to minimize additional waste.
The drive also aimed to spread awareness among the local community about the harmful impact of plastic pollution and the importance of preserving river ecosystem through collective responsibility.
