Tata Steel gears up to organise Jamshedpur Half-Marathon 2024 on November 24
~9th edition will see launch of Half Marathon~
Jamshedpur,: Tata Steel today announced dates for Jamshedpur Half-Marathon and other race categories which will take place on November 24. The theme for 9th edition of run is ‘Run for Fitness, Run for Fun!’
In its ninth edition, the race categories this year will include Anand Run, a 2-km family-friendly, non-competitive event suitable for all age groups, a 5-km run (open to all age categories) designed to test the endurance and speed of new runners. Intermediate runners, both men and women, can take on the 10-km challenge, while seasoned runners, once again, men and women, can push their limits by participating in Half Marathon.
This year’s event will feature the challenging Half Marathon distance for the first time. With total prize money on offer at approximately ₹10 lakhs, the Jamshedpur Run 2024 solidifies its position as a premier endurance sports platform in India. The half marathon winner will get a prize of ₹1 lakh.
Jamshedpur Run is a marquee event which is organised every year to instill the sense of fitness among the citizens of Jamshedpur. It witnesses participation from all age groups and provides a platform where people can rejuvenate and relish the experience.

The sports department will also organise an Expo on November 22 and 23 before the main event. All the participants will be given goodie bags, T-Shirt and refreshment boxes. There will be 10 per cent discounts on ‘Fit Family’ (minimum four persons per family only self, spouse, children and parents) participants. Under “Fit Together’ category, the criteria will be bulk registration of a group of minimum 20 persons from corporates, clubs and institutions etc who will be given a discount of 15 per cent.
The sports department will also spread a message of sustainability to mark the event through waste management and related efforts during and after run.
In 2023, Jamshedpur Run witnessed 5,739 participants from 18 states. In addition to the Jamshedpur Run-a-thon, Tata Steel has over the years championed the cause of fitness through several Run properties like Tata Steel Kolkata 25K Run, Noamundi Run-a-thon etc. across its operating locations to engage with the community through Sports.
