Jamshedpur: The much-awaited Summer Camp 2025 was officially inaugurated today at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in a vibrant opening ceremony graced by D.B. Sundara Ramam, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, as the Chief Guest.
With a strong turnout of enthusiastic participants on the very first day, the camp set the tone for an energetic and enriching summer ahead. Designed to promote fitness, discipline, creativity, and holistic development, the camp is being organised by the Sports Division and will run until May 30, 2025.
Spanning 20 sports and wellness disciplines — including athletics, swimming, football, karate, boxing, yoga, and more — the camp also features specially curated sessions for children aged 4–6 years, introducing them to fun-based fitness through activities like kids Zumba, football, and roller skating.
This year’s camp continues to foster inclusion and community participation, with 40 special children and around 60 children from Masti Ki Pathshala joining in the experience. Additionally, periodic engagement activities for parents and guardians have been planned to build a supportive and celebratory environment.
In his inaugural address, Sundara Ramam emphasised the importance of sports in shaping confident, disciplined individuals and commended the initiative for combining physical activity with values of sustainability and social awareness.
As a part of its offerings this year, the camp is distributing exclusive vouchers to all participants: 30% off at Tata Steel Zoological Park and 40% off at Nicco Jubilee Park.
In alignment with holistic well-being, participants will benefit from expert-led sessions on Nutrition and Hydration, equipping them with knowledge to support their athletic and everyday health.
This year’s edition also stands out for its eco-conscious approach, with an aim to make it a Zero Waste Event in collaboration with the Koru Foundation. Children will participate in unique workshops on composting, bio-enzyme making, handmade paper, and an eco-treasure hunt, reinforcing awareness about environmental responsibility.
Informative sessions on safe and unsafe touch, menstrual hygiene, nutrition, hydration, and sustainable practices are planned to provide children with essential life skills alongside their athletic training.
Summer Camp 2025 is not just a platform for sports—it is a celebration of learning, growth, and community participation, with similar camps also being organized in Tata Steel Kalinganagar, Tata Steel Meramandali, Tata Growth Shop, Tata Steel Gamharia and Raw Material locations.
The camp is sponsored by Anima Sports, GSM Catering Services, Foodie Monster, Brubeck, Healthy Bites and Zydus Wellness whose continued support enables this impactful initiative to reach greater heights each year.
