Jamshedpur.
As a run up to the upcoming general elections in India, the students of Loyola School staged a ‘nukkad natak’ at the school assembly on 9th of April, imparting a relevant important message.
Voting gives citizens a voice and an opportunity to meaningfully contribute to the shared democratic process. It is our civic responsibility – a fundamental tool that creates the framework for our democracy, the largest in the world.
Through a simple, engaging and humorous street play, the children gave a serious message to all regarding the importance of using one’s electoral rights.
Most of us believe that all public policy decisions are taken by the government. What we need to remember is that it is our vote that determines who will implement these public policy decisions in the interest of the nation.
How better to communicate this important message than through the medium of drama ? The nukkad natak did create a stir among the audience as the children as well as the staff realized the huge responsibility that they owe to the nation in the form of their vote.
Along similar lines, Father Vinod Fernandes, Principal, urged each and every eligible citizen to cast his vote because voting is the expression of our commitment not only to ourselves but also to one another and the nation at large.
At the end of the program the Principal, Vice Principal, teachers, staff and students took a solemn oath to respect their democratic responsibility towards their country.
Every vote is precious.
Every vote counts.
