Jamshedpur: Tata Steel UISL today inaugurated a series of facilities aimed at strengthening Jamshedpur’s water supply and wastewater management infrastructure.
The newly inaugurated projects include the Automated Water Supply System at Sonari Water Tower, Automated Packaged Sewage Treatment Plants (PSTPs) and Treated Wastewater Recycle System at Southern SPS, Bistupur. These initiatives mark another significant step towards sustainable urban water management in the city.
The facilities were inaugurated digitally by D.B. Sundara Ramam, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel from the Central Water Tower, Bistupur, in the presence of Ritu Raj Sinha, Managing Director, Tata Steel UISL.
Automation of Sonari Tower is aimed at improving consistency in water supply timings to consumers. The Sonari Water Tower caters to multiple residential areas including Adarsh Nagar, C Sector, E Sector, Kagal Nagar D Sector, Naya Line TOP, Flat Complex, New Khutadih, PNB Panchwati Nagar, Old Sonari, North Layout, Naya Line (Bottom), West Layout (A-N), Sangam Vihar, 7th Extension, Ram Nagar and adjoining localities, thereby ensuring improved and reliable water supply for thousands of residents.
Automation also ensures efficiency, consistent quality, real-time monitoring, enhanced safety, regulatory compliance, and cost savings.
