Jamshedpur: The Naval Tata Hockey Academy (NTHA), in collaboration with the Jharkhand Education Department, proudly hosted the District Level Jawaharlal Nehru Hockey Tournament 2025–2026. This exciting event brought together talented young players from various schools across East Singhbhum district.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from multiple schools, with each team demonstrating skill and a passion for the game. NTHA extended its full support by providing world-class infrastructure and technical expertise, ensuring the smooth conduct of matches. Senior players from the Academy took on the role of Technical Umpires, contributing their experience to maintain fairness and high standards of play.

In the tournament, 4 teams participated. In the Men’s category, DCM SOE BPM Plus 2 High School, Burmanies claimed the Winner’s trophy while Adivashi Plus 2 High School, Sitaramdera emerged as the Runner-up. In the Women’s category, VN Plus 2 High School, Haldipokhar lifted the Winner’s trophy and DCM SOE BPM Plus 2 High School, Burmamines secured the Runner-up position.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Gurmeet Singh Rao, Project Director of NTHA said “We aim to engage more schools in future editions of this tournament, fostering greater participation and promoting hockey at the grassroots level in East Singhbhum. Developing young talent is crucial for the sport’s future, and such initiatives help identify and nurture the next generation of players.”
This initiative reflects NTHA’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the hockey ecosystem in Jharkhand and ensuring that young athletes receive the right exposure and opportunities to grow.
