Jamshedpur:
Preparations for the Ghatshila Assembly by-election have reached their final stage. On Monday, polling teams were dispatched to their respective booths from the district’s Co-operative College dispatch centre. Along with polling officials, security personnel have also been deployed to ensure that the voting process is conducted in a peaceful, fair, and fear-free environment.
District Election Officer Karn Satyarthi and Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Pandey were present at the dispatch centre to personally review the arrangements. They inspected the site, interacted with polling personnel, sector magistrates, and police officers, and issued necessary instructions.
The District Election Officer directed all polling teams to reach their assigned polling stations on time and strictly adhere to the guidelines of the Election Commission. He emphasized that any form of negligence or delay would not be tolerated.
During the inspection, Mr. Satyarthi and Mr. Pandey also reviewed the secure distribution of polling materials, vehicle movements, security arrangements, and logistical coordination to ensure smooth operations at all levels.
Mr. Satyarthi said that the administration’s top priority is to ensure free, fair, and peaceful polling. Adequate security personnel have been deployed at all polling stations, which have been equipped with essential amenities such as drinking water, toilets, and electricity.
SSP Piyush Pandey informed that the entire constituency has been divided into several zones from a security perspective, with senior officers assigned to monitor each zone. Drone surveillance and mobile patrolling teams will be deployed throughout the polling process to ensure immediate action in case of any disturbance.
The administration has appealed to all voters to come forward fearlessly and exercise their right to vote, participating enthusiastically in this festival of democracy.
